Sandy – Owner/President, Licensed Massage Therapist

Treatment Philosophy

Deep tissue is great when appropriate. It is up to the intuitiveness of the therapist to determine if what the client is asking for is the right thing for them at that time. I use every opportunity to educate the client on what is going on with their body and how to achieve their health goals. I am their partner in health and believe that it is the clients’ body that does the healing, not me personally – I am just a facilitator.

Specialties & Types of Clients best suited to my style of therapy

  • Neuromuscular and deep tissue are my favorite techniques to use for clients who are suffering with migraine headaches, back and neck pain, hip and shoulder dysfunction
  • I love to be a detective and figure out what the source of pain is and then treat the whole person, not just the area of pain.
  • I love to stretch clients out to create length and restore posture. Educating clients on home self-care is a passion and I will refer out to many sources in order that clients get the care they need.

Preferred styles of massage therapy used in treatments

  • deep tissue, combined with Neuromuscular, Orthopedic and broad Swedish strokes make for a deeply relaxing and therapeutic experience.
  • I like to work on restoring the muscles back to their original state with stretching and maybe a little Craniosacral work to ensure that the changes will take hold and make clients feel new again.
  • pressure scale 5-10

Dr. Mark – Doctor of Chiropractic & Medical

Dr. Mark Severance has been in the field of natural medicine for over 30 years beginning as a Hospital Corpsmen/Physical Therapy technician in the U.S. Navy. He received his doctorate degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1994. He practices a low-force, gentle technique. He spent two years studying Traditional Indian Healing in Northern Wisconsin with the Ojibwa tribe. Having graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in 2001, Dr. Severance is a licensed acupuncturist. He is a nutritionist and author of the book, “Mother Nature’s Healing Touch Therapies. The Remedy for an Ailing Health Care System.” Furthermore, for two years, Dr. Severance was a co-host on the internet radio show, “To Your Health Naturally.”
Specialty Treatments

  • Chiropractic: Dr. Severance utilizes a low force adjusting technique. The Chiropractic Adjusting Tool (CAT) is a small, hand-held instrument which delivers a gentle percussive force to any joint in the body with the goal of restoring motion. The CAT low force adjusting is an alternative to the traditional manual form of spinal manipulation associated with “cracking” or “popping” of joints. It is safe for all ages: newborns to senior citizens.
  • Acupuncture: Acupuncture is one of the oldest practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Acupuncture is founded on the belief that disease is caused by disruptions to the flow of energy, or qi, in the body. Acupuncture stimulates points on or under the skin called acupuncture points thus releasing this qi. The qi then travels through channels called meridians and restores proper energy.
  • Nutrition: Dr Severance utilizes supplements created from Whole Food Complexes grown on an organic farm – not synthetic, lifeless, inert supplements made in a laboratory. He offers consultations to address nutritional deficiencies that may be contributing to your condition, reviews your health goals, assesses the supplements you may already be taking, and recommends a plan of action that can help you restore your body’s innate desire for wellness.
