Client Policies

We are privileged to have you as our guest and client. We hope that you find our office warm and inviting and that we impress you with our professionalism and our willingness to serve, so that you will frequent our establishment and tell all of your friends and family about us.

Because we are a massage clinic and not a day spa, we want to initiate a solid client-practitioner relationship by letting you know what you can expect of us, as this may be your first encounter with our type of practice. Our goal is to reduce your stress, and the first step in that process is to open the lines of communication. Thus we have provided the following information for you to review at home at your convenience, so that misunderstandings are at a minimum and pleasurable experiences are at a maximum!

What clients can expect of us

  1. We promise to provide a competent and professional session each time you come for an appointment addressing your specific needs for that session.
  2. We are available at our office location for appointments and to purchase products and gift certificates (see hours at left).
  3. All therapists are state licensed and certified, are members of the American Massage Therapy Association, have received National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and have a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience.
  4. Privacy and confidentiality will be maintained at all times.
  5. We keep accurate records and review charts before each session.
  6. All clients will be treated courteously and with respect.
  7. Personal and professional boundaries are respected at all times.

  9. Payment is expected at the time service is rendered (except for packages which are purchased prior to services rendered for the series requested). We accept cash, checks, and if necessary, we accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. We do not invoice or have "house accounts" for our services; therefore credit terms do not exist.
  10. Massage Therapy is not covered by insurance in most cases*. Some clients can receive reimbursement with a doctor's prescription that includes a diagnosis code on it. Ask your doctor for a prescription that has the diagnosis code and the number of treatments recommended and bring it to us to copy. We will help you fill out the necessary forms for you to send to your insurance company. If it is a Workman's Comp or Personal Injury case, please inform us.
  11. If you come with a prescription from your doctor, we will do our best to communicate our findings and your progress to him/her. Please provide the contact information so that we may do the proper follow-up.
  12. We do not claim to treat specific conditions or diagnose. We will perform services for which we are qualified and able to do and will refer to the appropriate specialists when work is not within our scope of practice and/or not in the client's best interest.
  13. Gift cards are available and have a 1-year expiration date. No discounts can be applied for the purchase of gift cards. If the recipient does not want to use the card, the certificate can be transferred to another client. NO REFUNDS are given for cards. Gift cards redeemed after the expiration date will be accepted at the owner’s discretion.
  14. All discounts are not valid with any other offers, promotions, packages, or for outcalls.
  15. We try to accommodate all guests. To cancel without a full service charge, a 24 notice of change or cancellation is required. No allowances can be given for rescheduling within this time.
  16. Confirmation calls will be made unless a client requests that no call be made. Please tell us when and where you would like to be called. We cannot guarantee we will call within the 24 hour limit, so if you need to cancel, please keep the cancellation policy in mind.
  17. Sessions will begin and end at scheduled times. Sessions that are begun late due to client arriving late will end at the appointed time and will be full price.
  18. If a session is begun late due to our scheduling difficulties, the client will receive the full time of their appointment (if client’s schedule allows). If you cannot be delayed, the remaining time will be credited towards your next massage. No discount will be given.
  19. Sessions that are shortened by client’s request in less that 24 hours notice due to scheduling conflicts will be full price of the original scheduled time.
  20. We will attempt to maintain flexibility in scheduling. Standing appointments (appointments that are same time same day and are at a regular interval and are unchanged) are given on a first come first serve basis. Changing of a standing appointment time to a different day, time, or therapist will mean the loss of priority for that previous standing appointment time.
  21. We will do our best to give you the therapist of your choice. If it is deemed necessary due to technique requests or availability, we will try to match you with a therapist who we feel will fulfill your particular needs.
  22. Rescheduling a time within the same day or on another day in less than 24 hours does not relinquish the cancellation fee. Your time change may constitute seeing a different therapist or be an earlier time that we may not be able to fill. Therefore, cancellation charges will apply. (See #15)
  23. If you are dissatisfied with a treatment and no other arrangement can be agreed upon, compensation may be made at the owner’s discretion.
  24. Product returns – Shaklee carries a 30-day money-back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied with their product. If you purchase from TKL and return your product you must wait for your money to be refunded from Shaklee Corp. after signing the proper form or you can receive credit in the form of replacement of the product with a different Shaklee product.
  25. No cash refunds on pillows, teas, heating pads, ice packs, etc.
  26. We give discounts for referring a new client to our practice. You will receive $10 off your next massage when a new client lists you as his or her referral. If your next massage is scheduled for less than one hour, the discount will be $5.
  27. We reserve the right to limit a discount in a promotion even if limits are not written in the promotion.
  28. We make no claims as to the therapeutic value of certain herbs or products and suggest you consult with a physician if you have any questions about whether you should take a particular product.
